Description

These buildings, numbered 54 to 60 Bridge Street, date from around 1800 and are constructed of ashlar stone. They feature a moulded cornice and rusticated pilasters at each end. A prominent central feature is created by two very long, tapering Doric pilasters. Number 56 has a flush-panelled entrance door with a traceried fanlight above it. Number 58 has a long-panelled door with large hinges, which leads to a rear wing that is also numbered 58. The upper floors contain a varying number of 12-paned windows: five windows on the upper floor, one window in the middle, and five on the top floor. The building at number 60 forms a corner with Eastern Lane. The listed buildings along the north side of Bridge Street constitute a notable group.
