Description
The Smalridge memorial, located 5 metres north of the aisle of the Church of St. Andrew, is a graveyard memorial dating from around 1770. It is made of cut sandstone and features a square plan in the Gothick style. The memorial has a stepped base, panelled angle pilasters, a fluted frieze, and crocketed finials, with a large central crocketed pinnacle. Inscriptions on the east and west sides commemorate Ann and Mary Smalridge, who were the mother and wife of Rev. George Smalridge, although the inscriptions on the other faces are badly worn.
