Description

A terrace of three almshouses, built in the mid-to-late 18th century and located on the north side of High Street in Ormesby, Middlesbrough. The buildings are constructed of brick in an English garden wall bond, with renewed clay pantile roofs. They are arranged as a single storey with six windows. Each almshouse features a late 20th-century glazed door centrally positioned, flanked by late 20th-century casement windows, all set within original openings. The windows are topped by gauged brick flat arches. A chamfered angle is visible at the left end, where the roof is hipped. The remainder of the roof is sprocketed at the eaves, and three ridge stacks are present. A one-window elevation is visible on the left return. Late 20th-century rear extensions to numbers 59 and 61 are not of special architectural interest.
