Description
This barn, located 20 metres south of the Church of St. Mary, is likely from the late 18th century. It is constructed from coursed rubble with roughly-shaped quoins and some cut dressings, topped with a graduated stone slate roof. The north elevation features three bays, with a central stable door set in an irregular-block surround. The flanking bays each contain three vertical pairs of slit vents, except for the left end, which has a slatted loft window in place of two vents. The right side shows slit vents and a boarded pitching door in the gable, while the left side has an inserted stable door and slit vents. The rear elevation, partly integrated with adjacent farm buildings, displays a stable door in an irregular-block surround, slit vents, and a stone-surround window on the ground floor to the right.
Inside, a cross wall with two segmental-arched openings separates the storeyed west end from the rest of the barn. The adjacent farm buildings have been altered and are not considered of special interest.
