Description
Ivy Cottage, which was originally a pair of cottages, along with an adjacent outbuilding to the south, dates from the 18th century and early 19th century. The building is constructed of rubble with roughly-shaped quoins and dressings, topped by a graduated stone slate roof. The east elevation features two storeys and two wide bays. There is a boarded door to the left of centre within a block surround, with a blocked door to the right and angle quoins of the original smaller house visible above. The windows are 4-pane sashes with slightly projecting sills.
To the left, there is a lower outbuilding that has slit vents, a blocked doorway with a part-slatted window inserted, and a 20th-century sliding door. The left side of the outbuilding displays three pairs of slit vents and another vent in the gable. The rear elevation of the house is similar to the front, and there is a boarded door in an irregular-block surround leading to the outbuilding. This listing is included for its group value.
