Description
Brignall Farmhouse, dating from the late 18th century, is a house constructed of rubble with cut quoins and dressings, topped with a stone slate roof. The building is two storeys high and features three bays, arranged symmetrically. The central entrance consists of a four-panel door with a plain overlight above it. The windows are 16-pane sash types with slightly projecting sills, and there are stepped-and-banded stacks at each end of the house. To the right, there is a single-storey outbuilding that has a blocked opening beneath a timber lintel, along with an attached pent privy that has a boarded door. The rear elevation of the house displays similar window arrangements.
Inside, the farmhouse includes six-panel doors and folding panelled shutters. There is a dog-leg closed-string staircase with stick balusters and a grip handrail.
