Description

The grey tomb located approximately 10 metres south-west of the Church of St. Margaret is a table tomb dating from around 1771. It commemorates Edward Gray and members of his family until 1883. The tomb is made of sandstone ashlar and features six fat balusters that support a moulded top with a long, well-cut inscription. Among those mentioned on the tomb are Edward Grey, who died in 1799, and John, the son of Edward Grey of Newcastle upon Tyne, who died in 1812.
