Description
The headstone to John Gibson, located 7 meters south of the south porch of the Church of St. Andrew, is a small rectangular sandstone block dating from 1702. It stands about 0.75 meters high and features a small semicircular top with moulded edges on the front and rear. The east face has an incised inscription that reads: "HERE LIETH THE BODIE OF JOHN GIBSON WHO DEPARTED THIS LIFE (illegible) ANNO 1702." The reverse side displays a raised central lozenge with the initials R C (?), positioned above two blank shields.
