Description
The Turnbull tomb, located approximately 10 metres southeast of the Church of St. Margaret, is a headstone dating from around 1786. It commemorates Thomas Turnbull, a gardener at Beamish, who died in 1786 at the age of 80, and his wife Mary, who passed away in 1788 at the age of 96. This tomb is included for its historical interest, as Beamish Hall, nearby, features a large walled garden and extensive grounds.
