Description
Pockerley Farmhouse is a farmhouse that likely dates from the mid-18th century, with some alterations made in the 19th century. It is constructed of squared rubble and features a Welsh slate roof along with dressed stone chimney stacks. The farmhouse is attached to the left side of the Pockerley pele tower.
The building has two storeys and consists of three bays, with flush quoins on the left side. The central entrance has a replaced six-panel door with an overlight, all set beneath a flush lintel. The windows are replaced margined sashes in 19th-century openings, which also have flush lintels and projecting sills. The steeply-pitched roof has slightly-swept eaves and a raised left verge with a reverse-stepped gable. There are chimney stacks at the left end and on the ridge, both featuring top bands. At the rear, there is a low two-storey added outshut that has scattered sashes and a central gabled porch, which extends across both the farmhouse and the pele tower.
The farmhouse is included for its group value.
