Description
The garden walls and piers in front of St. Cuthbert's Vicarage were likely built around 1850 by John Dobson. They are constructed from coursed squared sandstone, featuring quoins and ashlar dressings. The thinly-rendered wall has a low-sloping coping and steps that lead down the slope to the vehicle entrance located at the west of the vicarage. There are two pairs of tall, square piers, positioned at the center of the garden and at the vehicle entrance. These piers have chamfered plinths and cornices beneath pyramidal copings. The structure is included for its group value.
