Description

The North Jetty at Birnbeck Pier, likely built in the late 1860s and extensively repaired between 1903 and 1905, extends north from the island. It features iron cross-girders that support the deck, with coupled tubular shafts and diagonal braces connecting the sea to the girders. At the outer end, there is a landing stage supported by densely clustered supports, which include some diagonal bracing on the south side. A small pavilion is also present.
