Description
The Deanery is a house built in the Jacobethan style, featuring smooth render with bathstone dressings, mullion and transom windows, tiled roofs, and large stone chimney stacks. It has two storeys plus attics, with the entrance front facing north. The building consists of three bays, with a recessed central bay that has a large window on the first floor. On the ground floor, there is a triple-arched stone screen leading to a porch over the entrance doorway.
The house includes gabled crosswings, with the left gable featuring a projecting chimney and flanking windows at the first floor level. The left (east) gable has a 2-light window in the attic and 3-light windows on both the first and ground floors. The south return has two 2-light windows on the first and ground floors. The south front displays three gables in a similar style, with the central gable set forward and featuring a 2-storey splayed bay window in bathstone. There is a large chimney on the east return and a later lean-to addition below the left gabled bay. To the left (west), there is a lower 2-storey service block in a similar style, and to the west of the house, a yard is formed by service buildings.
