Description

Tintern House is a detached house, now converted into apartments. It dates from the 18th century and has a cement-rendered exterior. The roof is slate, with a shallow pitch, and tall, narrow brick stacks on the sides. A wooden eaves cornice runs around the building. The house is three storeys high and has a three-window front. The upper floors have twelve-pane sash windows with horizontal bands separating the storeys. The ground-floor windows are tripartite, consisting of a central sash with narrower side lights. A central doorway is sheltered by a shallow hood, and has a panelled door within a plain door case, above which is a rectangular overlight with a symmetrical fret pattern border. The building has a plinth, and a small railed courtyard is located at the front left.
