Description
Stratheden is one of a group of four Regency style buildings, and it is the second largest after Hardwick Hill House, standing higher than both numbers 2 and 3 in the group. The building features roughcast render that is painted, with a slate roof behind an eaves cornice and narrow rendered stacks. It has three storeys and a cellar, with a three-window range of sashes that have narrow glazing bars in the reveals; the top floor has 9-pane windows, while the floors below have 12-pane windows. The central doorway is framed by a trellis porch on a plinth, leading to a double six-panelled door with a reeded architrave and a decorative overlight that incorporates a roundel. The building has a plinth and includes a two-storey side wing with a hipped roof that steps down to the right, along with a modern extension at the front. The interior is believed to retain panelled shutters and reveals.
