Description
Llanfair Court is a house featuring rendered and painted stonework with a natural slate roof. It resembles a Regency villa, but only the right two-thirds of the building dates from 1815, while the left end was added in 1955-1956. The original part of the house is double depth, and the extension is single depth. The house has two storeys, with three windows on the lower level and five on the upper level. The lower windows are French casements, while the upper ones are 6 over 6 pane sashes, with the second and fourth windows having arch heads. The roof is hipped overall.
The entrance to the house is located in the rear wing, featuring a partly glazed door framed by an elegant early 19th-century surround. This wing has additional sash windows and includes a further extension from the early 20th century, which has a more cottage-like character.
From the west side of the house, there are no visible elements from the 16th century, but the east side reveals its origins more clearly. Here, the house has a stone rubble range with casement windows and a two-storey gabled porch of Elizabethan style. Most of the joinery appears to date from around 1925.
The interior details were not available during the resurvey. Previous descriptions mention that the house incorporates many ancient features from other houses, but specific information about these features is not known.
