Description

Old Court Farmhouse, which includes the attached Cross Wing known as Llamfihangel Court, is a 2-storey farmhouse constructed of rubble, with some sections whitewashed, and features ashlar dressings. The roof is made of Welsh slate and has brick end stacks. The primary house likely follows a former 3-room cross passage plan, with the kitchen located to the right of the passage, and a dairy and pantry to the left, separated by a now-removed studded partition, with the hall end on the left. There is probably an earlier two-storey porch on the south elevation.

The main northern elevation has two renewed casement windows and, in the center, one of two arched lights with a moulded mullion beneath a rectangular hood mould, as well as another with two rectangular lights featuring a diamond mullion. The elevation also has a battered plinth. The southern elevation includes a two-storey gabled porch with a deeply splayed slit window, a double light window to the former kitchen with a moulded mullion and hood mould, and iron ferramenta; other doors and windows have been remodelled, and it also has a battered plinth.

The cross wing features a three-window front with cross-frame casements and a swept-roofed trellised porch. Inside the porch, there is a stone spiral stair with modern wood treads, and a further blocked slit light is visible. Access from the house is through a four-centred chamfered stone arch. The fireplace in the former kitchen has repositioned moulded stone jambs, and the south wall shows a thickness of approximately 1 meter in the window splay.
