15 Windsor Esplanade

Nos 1-19 Windsor Esplanade comprise a terrace of houses built in the 19th century. The houses are constructed of snecked grey and brown local sandstone with bathstone dressings, and have generally slate roofs with mainly red brick chimneys. Each house has three windows, two storeys in height, and round-headed attic dormers concealed behind a partially lost parapet with decorative piercings. The houses at each end of the terrace, and the central three, project slightly forward and have pinnacled, shaped gables with bathstone copings, featuring square-headed windows with hoodmoulds. The central house has a slightly narrower and lower shaped gable. A bathstone cornice sits above a band of red brick and red and black terracotta tiles. Window and door surrounds are in bathstone with rectangular hood moulds, and a bathstone band course runs at first-floor sill level. The first floor has single windows above the doorways and paired windows above semi-hexagonal bay windows on the ground floor, with cornices and low parapets. The central house differs, having three single windows to the first floor and an additional window on the ground floor to the right of the bay. The original window glazing has been replaced. The west return is rendered and features a broad shaped gable, while the east return is in stone with a triangular gable and two blocked windows on each floor.
