Description
The garden wall, privy, and gatepiers of Oak Cottage are notable features from the 19th century. The square brick gate piers have peaked capping and support a 19th-century iron gate at the top of a flight of steps that leads down to a rear entry. To the north-west of the house, there is an iron post that was used in connection with Melingriffith lock on the Glamorganshire Canal, which was closed in 1942. Additionally, a wall encloses the garden to the south of the house, made of colourwashed stone rubble with rough capping. This wall includes a privy and outhouse located in the south-west corner, which has a roof made of corrugated steel sheeting.
