Description
This is a three-bay corn barn, likely dating to the 18th century. It is located at Bryngwenith. The barn is constructed of coursed masonry with a slate roof. The central bay projects to the front, and features a wide front entrance with planked double doors set within a basket-arched head with voussoirs. Ventilation slits are located to the left and right of the entrance. A similar, but taller, doorway is present at the rear, also flanked by ventilation slits, which may have been used for access by laden wagons. A single ventilation slit is set at ground level in the south gable end. A stable is attached to the north gable end with no openings above. The accessway into the barn is paved with raised cobbles. Internally, the barn contains well-preserved timber beams, poles and panelling, including a loft at the south end. The roof structure is not visible from the exterior.
