Description
The barn at Wern Tarw is a 19th-century structure featuring centrally-placed doorways at both the front and rear. It is constructed of random rubble with stone dressings and has a stone-tiled roof, except for a small section that is covered with corrugated asbestos-cement. The wide doorways are topped with segmental arches made of voussoirs and are flanked by ventilation slits, although the ventilation slit to the right is blocked. The front (east) doorway has 20th-century planked double doors. At the rear, there is an added lean-to porch with a corrugated asbestos-cement roof, which also has planked doors. Both the south and north gable ends feature a ventilation slit in the gable and a second blocked slit below.
Inside, the barn has a five-bay layout with a simple king-post roof. It is currently used as a sheep pen.
