Description

The Oystercatcher Public House is a two-storey inn with a long street frontage of six bays. The left bay is pebbledashed, while the remaining bays are rendered and painted, with limewashed stone rubble at the rear. The roof is made of artificial slate and features rendered end stacks. The windows, which are all 6/6 pane sashes, are set in deep reveals that highlight the thickness of the masonry. Most of the windows are unhorned and have sills, with painted relief surrounds and moulded shallow hoods on the first floor, except for the far left window, which has a cambered head. The ground floor has similar windows without hoods, and there are moulded vertical bands at each corner of the building. The central doorway has a similar surround and features a remodelled double door with an overlight. There is a deep plinth by the door and a battered base to the right. Additionally, there is a round-arched doorway with a chamfered surround and a boarded door in the left end bay. To the right, there is a recessed single-storey wing, and the rear has outshuts with few windows and access to the cellar.

Some surviving features noted by the Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical Monuments of Wales in 1972 are no longer visible. The interior is now open to the left end, and the main fireplace dates from around 1700. The interior retains some 19th-century boarded dados, doors, and window seats.
