Description
Velindre Bridge is a four-bay viaduct built with round arches. The western side is constructed of rubble stone, while the eastern side features snecked stone. The three arches on the southern side span the River Afan, and the northern arch crosses a narrow lane. The arches on the western side have narrow dressed voussoirs and low triangular cutwaters that are stepped above. The bridge has rubble stone parapets, which are partially missing, and there is no string course. The abutments are slightly splayed. The southern abutment contains part of an infilled segmental arch, likely related to an earlier bridge. The eastern side is made of snecked rock-faced stone with matching voussoirs, a string course, and partially missing parapets, also featuring low stepped cutwaters. The bridge has a flat deck that is now used as a foot and cycle path.
