Description
This is a mid-19th century iron bollard located close to the River Tawe, north of the New Cut Bridge. It is inscribed with "Ynyscedwyn Iron Works," referencing the notable ironworks at Ystradgynlais. The bollard features cast-iron stems that are approximately 2 feet high, with moulded flat rims and hemispherical caps. The rim is adorned with embossed lettering. This bollard is a fine example of a type that was widely exported.
