Description

Baylis Bridge, also known as Canal Bridge No 120, is a single-span hump-backed bridge made of rubble sandstone. It features a distorted asymmetrical segmental arch with voussoirs and a keystone on the east side. The soffit of the arch has been reinforced with six iron ribs. The bridge has continuous parapets that are splayed with end piers, and the deck slopes sharply down towards the north. The structure shows signs of having suffered structural failure, resulting in a deformed arch and largely rebuilt parapets.
