Description

Kestrel Cottage is a terraced cottage, part of a mirrored pair with the adjacent property. It dates from the 17th century, built of local rubble stone with a steeply pitched slate roof and a replacement brick stack on the left end. The cottage has two storeys and one window on the front elevation, with a doorway to the right. The windows are timber-mullioned with diagonally set square panes, featuring tooled and chamfered jambs, a stone sill, and a lintel. The ground floor window has a sandstone ashlar hoodmould. The first floor window is a two-light design set under the eaves, while the ground floor window is three-lights wide. A Tudor-arched doorway is formed with tooled stone voussoirs and a renewed wooden door. The interior has not been inspected.
