Description

The Lansdowne Hotel, which includes a block at the rear in Lansdowne Terrace, is a three-storey building with an early 19th-century exterior. It features stuccoed fronts with five bays facing The Watton and an irregular five-bay layout to Lansdowne Terrace. The roof is slate and hipped to the right, with paired bracket eaves. There are bands at the second and first floor sill levels.

On the second floor, there are nine-pane inward opening hopper windows; the first floor has 12-pane sash windows set in reveals with moulded architraves. The ground floor has a central doorcase with wooden pilasters, an architrave, a frieze, and a cornice on consoles, with a modern door. Flanking this are two wide 16-pane sash windows in openings with moulded architraves.

Returning to Lansdowne Terrace, there are two windows on each of the three floors, featuring 4-pane sash windows in architraves, except on the top floor. To the right, there is a doorway with a doorcase that includes pilasters and a cornice on consoles, leading to a part-glazed panelled door. Adjacent is a lower three-window, three-storey block with four-pane sash windows in architraves, except for the top floor. The ground floor has a central doorway similar to those in the rest of the building.

Inside, there are panelled doors and an early 19th-century staircase.
