Description

Lower Yard Bridge, also known as Canal Bridge No 114, is a single-span hump-backed bridge made of rubble sandstone. It features a segmental arch with thin voussoirs and has continuous parapets. On the southeast side, which is downstream, there is a cast iron plaque displaying the bridge number in relief. The parapets are long and splayed, except on the north side where there is an end pier. The deck of the bridge is elevated, and to the east, there is a high stone stile with projecting footholds. The copings are primarily made of upright stones, with some flat stone replacements. Additionally, a water pipe is attached to the northwest face of the bridge.
