Description

Millbrook House is a Georgian-style, five-bay house that stands two storeys tall with an attic. The exterior features rubble stone walls and a roughcast front with raddle, which has some repairs painted pink. The slate roof has an external stack on the left and an end stack on the right, both of which have been replaced with brick. The windows show traces of former architraves and consist of 12-pane hornless sashes. The centrally-placed doorway is framed by a moulded surround and features a six-panel door with an overlight that has Gothick glazing.

To the left gable end, there is a single-storey former stable made of rubble stone, painted cream, with a slate roof. It has a boarded door at the centre of a former full-height opening that is now blocked above the door. To the left of the door is a 12-pane sash window, while to the right is a window that was inserted in the 20th century. The right gable end of the house is pebble-dashed and has a horned sash window inserted in the upper right. The rear wall features a small battered buttress at the left end, and centrally placed are 19th-century two-light casements that provide light to the stairs.

Inside, the central stair hall boasts a full-height open-well stair with turned balusters and a newel, along with a moulded handrail. There are plainer stairs leading to the service rooms in the attic. The ground floor includes two main rooms, where the windows are fitted with panelled shutters, and the panelled doors have moulded surrounds.
