Description

This is a threshing barn, likely dating from the 18th century, built of rubble masonry with quoins and a stone tile roof. The eastern elevation, which faces the highway, features a central full-height opening with planked double doors, and a ventilation slit to the left. A corresponding pair of double doors is present on the western rear elevation, to the left of which is a two-light casement window with square quarries, set beneath a segmental head with voussoirs. A further planked door sits to the left, also under a similar headed arch.

Attached to the right side of the rear elevation, at a right angle, is a single-pitched range of rubble stone with a slate roof, incorporating two stables. Each stable has a planked door and a window with timber struts to the right of the door. The south gable end of this range has two ventilation strips. A wall extending from the rear of the stables continues to the west. Running along the north gable end are three pigsties constructed of rubble stone with red pantile lean-to roofs; the southernmost sty is slightly taller than the others. The pigsty pens have flat stone copings, and openings are located on the south side of each sty.

No access to the interior was possible during inspection in August 1997.
