Description
The stable and coach-house at Fern Hill is an outbuilding constructed from colourwashed rubble stone and topped with an asbestos-sheet roof. It is a single-storey structure featuring a cambered-headed coach entry on the right, which has modern double doors from the 20th century. To the left is the former stable, which includes a ledged door with an iron grille and a large fanlight adorned with Gothick glazing bars, flanked by two small windows. One window has a shutter, while the other is glazed, both set within brick jambs and heads. There is also a small window in the left end wall and a rear lean-to made of rubble stone on the left side. The interior has been altered to create a single space, supported by thin roof trusses from the 20th century.
