Description
The dwarf wall, railings, and gates located in front of Ebenezer Chapel are a notable feature. The low wall is finished in stucco with a stone coping, flanked by cast-iron railings beside cast-iron gatepiers that support matching double gates. To the left of the gates is a short section of railings, while a longer section is found to the right. The railings on the left match the gates, featuring patterned squares on the bottom rail and four ornate scrolled designs between the uprights, through which a round top bar is threaded, topped with angular finials. The double gates incorporate similar motifs, with patterned squares positioned at the mid-rail level and a thickly patterned foliate design on the lower half. The gatepiers are octagonal on square bases, topped with moulded octagonal caps and tall standards that may have originally supported lamps. The railings to the right exhibit a different design, featuring ornate piercings with large quatrefoils set in squares and fleur de lys finials on the uprights.
