Description
The Hotel Panorama, originally a terraced house, is a three-storey building with an attic and basement, featuring painted stucco and a slate roof with stuccoed end stacks. It has a two-window range, with a full-height canted bay on the right and a single window on each floor above the door to the left. The parapet is interrupted by two flat-headed dormers. Most windows are 4-pane sashes, while the canted sides of the bay have narrower 2-pane sashes. The attic windows have cambered heads, the second-floor windows have rounded upper corners on the reveals, and the first-floor windows also have cambered heads. The ground-floor windows are uniquely designed with three-sided heads. The entrance features a cambered-headed 20th-century glazed door with an overlight, and there are cambered-headed basement windows. The parapet has a slight step.
Surrounding the property are iron railings topped with fleur-de-lys finials. Inside, the lobby boasts a modillion cornice and a glazed screen with leaded coloured glass in the door. The hall has a similar cornice, and the staircase features a large bulbous turned newel, thin turned balusters, and moulded tread ends. The main rooms have been altered.
