Description
Maes Fron is a timber-framed building, likely dating to the 17th century, with painted brickwork simulating decorative quatrefoil panels. The south gable is clad in slate, and the roof is slated with a gable stack on the right-hand side, rebuilt to match its original design, and an axial stack located towards the rear of the original building, suggesting a baffle entry plan. The north gable has been partially reconstructed using timber framing. A lower brick rear wing, painted to resemble timber framing, adjoins the main building. The house is one and a half storeys high, with a two-unit plan and a central gabled porch featuring a moulded archway and a partly glazed four-panelled door. Flanking the porch are two-light casement windows, with similar casement windows in the framed gabled dormers of the roof. All windows are iron casements with small panes of interlaced glazing.
