Description
Spring House at Park Wells is a small, two-storey octagonal building that encloses three springs. The walls are timber-framed with plaster infill, and it features a pyramidal slate roof with overhanging eaves, an apex finial, and a weathervane. The wood-framed casement windows, which are mostly of two lights with transoms on the upper floor, were added in the 19th century.
On the southeast side, there is an external brick stack. To the left of this stack is a blind facet, followed by a facet with a window above and below. The southwest facet has a window above and a half-glazed door below, where a former porch has been removed. The next facet features windows above and below, leading to a landing with mid-19th century iron railings and half-glazed double doors on the upper storey, with a window below. The following facet contains a two-light window above and below, while the last facet to the northeast has a window above a two-panel door.
Although not inspected during the recent survey, a previous inspection in 1980 noted that the three mineral water springs are covered over inside at ground-floor level. The lower storey has a wainscot lining, while the upper storey has painted walls.
