Description
The garden wall at The Old Rectory is a boundary wall made of brick and freestone, featuring twin gate piers at the center topped with moulded stone cappings. It includes tripartite wooden Gothic gates. To the right, a rubble wall extends and angles back to connect with the churchyard gate on a street called "The Scallions." This wall, composed of both brick and rubble, continues along the churchyard before joining the side of the Old Rectory barn. On the left side of the gate piers along Broad Street, the boundary wall extends to Canon's Lane, where it returns to connect with the side elevation of the house. The front wall and gate piers are depicted in a view by J.M. Ince from 1832.
