Description
7 Arthur Street is a terraced small house built of red brick in garden wall bond, featuring a slate roof and a large brick stack at the right end. The house has two storeys with stepped eaves. The doorway is located at the extreme left, with a large window on each floor to the right. Four stone steps lead up to a cambered-headed doorway that has a modern ledged door and an overlight with lattice tracery, similar to that of No. 9. To the right, there is a painted stuccoed plinth and a large canted bay window with small panes, arranged in a 4-16-4 pattern, set on a canted brick base that includes a basement opening. Above the bay window is a notable large early 19th-century window with three lights and top lights. This window features small panes with iron glazing bars and opening lights, and the square top lights have Gothic intersecting glazing, with the centre light being operable. The rear of the house has been entirely modernised with a two-storey flat-roofed addition. The front is paved with stone setts. The interior has not been inspected.
