Description
Tyn-y-Rhos is a one-storey building with an attic, featuring roughcast walls and distinctive battered corner buttresses. The slate roof has lower transverse roofs on the east and west sides, along with projecting porches. There is an original roughcast chimney stack on the centre left, with a later chimney added on the right after the building was converted into living accommodation. The eaves are coved with brick moulding, and there is an open pediment on the front gable. A brick part-frieze is present at the capitals of the pilasters, which have battered bases at the porch and front angles.
The front gable has a modern plain oculus window, a blocked opening below it, and a modern projecting flat-roofed porch with a panelled door. There are modern neo-Georgian windows to the left and right, replacing previous openings. The building has engineering brick plinths all around, with later infill where porches have been removed. There is a blocked porch opening on the right gable end and an original oculus window on the left gable end.
At the rear, there are modern extensions. Internally, the building was originally open to the roof but has since been floored along with other alterations made for living accommodation.
