Description

Wern Farm is a farmhouse, dating from the 18th century, constructed of whitewashed rubble stone with a slate roof and rendered brick end stacks. The right-hand stack is set on an external stone chimney breast. The two-storey front has three windows, featuring small-paned hornless sash windows; the ground floor windows have 16 panes, while those on the first floor are square 12-pane windows. Stone lintels and sills are present, with the ground floor lintels being large single tooled slabs. A 20th-century door and overlight are at the front. The right-hand wall includes a casement window pair to the right of the stack and a door further right, situated in the end wall of a rear outshut. A single ground floor small-paned window is located on the left-hand end. Adjoining the main house to the left is a southwest-facing rear wing, likely added but built in a matching style, with a rendered end stack. This wing features a two-window range of 12-pane hornless sash windows. The rear of the wing has a single-storey lean-to with a corrugated iron roof.
