Description
Llan-gau is a two-storey, one-unit cottage built of rubble stone and topped with a slate roof, featuring a red brick chimney stack on the left. Attached to the left side, but separated by a butt joint, is a stable that is also constructed of rubble stone and has the same slate roof. The cottage has a part-lit boarded door on the right, which is set beneath a timber lintel. To the left of the door is a two-light casement window with quarries, also under a timber lintel, and there is a similar window directly above it. The north gable end of the cottage previously had a lean-to, which has now been replaced by an open canopy. The stable features a part-lit boarded door on the left, set under a segmental brick head, with some brick repairs to the jambs. To the right of this door is a two-light small-pane casement window, also under a segmental brick head, with the glazing likely added later. The south gable end is covered with corrugated iron sheeting, although the details are not visible. The rear of the building was not seen during the inspection, and there was no access to the interior at that time.
