Description
Hen-dy is a two-storey house built in the second quarter of the 19th century, featuring a shallow-pitched slate roof adorned with decorative ridge-tiles and slightly overhanging eaves. The structure is constructed of rubble with tooled sandstone dressings. It has plain brick chimney stacks at both gable ends, each topped with four ceramic pots. The facade is symmetrical with three bays, including a central bay that is slightly advanced and topped with a shallow gable. The bargeboards are plain, and the decorative ridge-tiles add character to the roofline.
The entrance is slightly recessed and features a contemporary four-panel door, with the upper two panels now glazed and accompanied by a plain rectangular fanlight. Above the entrance, there is a near-flush twelve-pane window. Flanking this on both floors are similar sixteen-pane casement windows. The first floor has a projecting cill-course, and all windows and the entrance are topped with plain stone lintels. The sides and rear of the house are scribed and rendered, with the rear mostly featuring modern windows and a lean-to addition on the left side.
