Description

Gardener's Cottage, Laundry Cottage, and Barn are located to the southwest of Bodidris and are attached to the northwest of a 16th-century house. The buildings are constructed of rubble stone and slate, with the main range facing south. The barn on the left features three pigeon holes in the upper wall and a large boarded door with a wooden lintel below, which leads to the threshing floor.

The adjoining two-storey Gardener's Cottage has a stone stack with an oversailing course at the top. The ground floor windows have cambered arched stone voussoirs, while the first floor features flat window heads; the stone sills project slightly. The fenestration includes 6-pane fixed lights and 6-pane opening casements. The entrance doorway, which is offset to the right, has a cambered arch made of stone voussoirs and a 4-panel door. To the left and right of the doorway are 18-pane and 24-pane windows that align with similarly sized windows on the upper floor, which also has a smaller 6-pane light above the door.

Laundry Cottage is two-storey and double-fronted, with openings that have large dressed stone lintels and shallower stone sills. The upper floor features 21-pane windows with hinged opening lights, while the lower floor has 18-pane mullion and transom windows. The offset boarded door has a rectangular overlight. A straight joint in the masonry to the right of the cottage indicates a separate build, with a door opening on the ground floor and a small window above it. The west gable end has a rough stone gable coping with a kneeler, and below it is a 19th-century cartshed entry.

The north elevation presents an irregular composition that includes two lateral stacks, pairs of casement windows, a 20th-century glazed door, and a second threshing door to the barn. The entire range is roofed as a single unit, supported by collar and tie beam trusses with upper V-struts and queen posts below the collar. Notably, the barn features an unusual upper boarded pigeon loft. Inside the Gardener's Cottage, there is a central stair with rooms on either side, each having corner fireplaces. The upper wall at the eastern end contains a fragment of a moulded string course, which is part of the former external wall of the 16th-century house.
