Description
The Bay Court Hotel, originally a house, is a two-storey building with an attic, constructed of stucco. It features two bays and has a slate gabled roof. The southern bay projects forward and is topped with a gable that has a cusped and pierced bargeboard, along with a Gothic-style attic window that includes casement glazing. Both the first and ground floors have a shallow canted three-light bay window with metal cresting positioned beneath the attic window, and each light has curved upper corners.
The right-hand bay is distinguished by a modillion eaves cornice and quoins on the right side. It contains a sash window with chamfered jambs on the first floor and a canted three-light bay window with metal cresting and flat-headed lights on the ground floor. The gable on the north return also features a pierced and cusped bargeboard, and there is a doorway with a bracketed hood.
At the rear, there is an additional block attached at right angles, which has a gable facing the road, a pierced bargeboard, and a tripartite window on each floor. The forecourt is enclosed by a wall consisting of two tiers: the lower tier is made of painted stone with ashlar coping and includes piers at the ends and in the middle, while the upper tier is constructed of painted brick.
