Description
The Jubilee Monument and Fountain to Queen Victoria features a bronze bust of Queen Victoria on a pedestal. The sides of the pedestal are inscribed with a dedication stating that the fountain was erected in the Happy Valley to commemorate the Jubilee of Queen Victoria's reign by The Right Honourable Lady Augusta Mostyn, on land presented to the Town of Llandudno by her son, The Right Honourable Llewellyn 3rd Baron Mostyn. The monument is sheltered by a free-standing canopy designed as a baldachino, which has a ribbed dome topped with a finial. This dome is supported by semi-circular sandstone arches with marble spandrils, and the arches are held up by free-standing granite columns on pedestals that form part of the podium for the entire monument. The base is stepped, and there is a fountain basin incorporated into the podium. The dome is flanked by four urn finials.
