Description
This is a row of five buildings – Pensarn, Glan-Awen, Three Rivers, Clydfan and Tegfan – constructed of coursed rubble under a shared slate roof, with five simple chimneys marking the individual units. Clydfan and Tegfan, located at the right-hand side of the terrace, are stuccoed and form a symmetrical pair, each with a single window. They feature paired entrances centrally and a blind window above. Modern boarded doors and C19 sash windows, the first-floor windows set under the eaves, are present on both floors, and the buildings retain their character well.
Three Rivers, formerly two dwellings, now has a modern central entrance flanked by enlarged modern windows with intersecting wooden tracery in their upper sections. The rendered first floor has four modern windows, and a large modern extension projects from the rear. A noticeable break in the masonry occurs between this rear extension and Glan-Awen.
Glan-Awen has a central entrance with a modern door and modern windows on both floors within the original window openings, with slate lintels bearing returned slate labels above the ground-floor windows. Pensarn, on the left of the group, is roughcast, displaying a large recess on the ground floor indicative of a former shopfront. Within this recess is a modern glazed door and an adjacent window. The first floor retains an original recessed C19 sash window with 16 panes. A small, slightly set-back lean-to addition is attached to the left side.
