Description
The Eastern Cavern, located north of the path near the main east vista fountain, is a Grade II listed structure. It is accessed via a secluded path and has its opening secured by a metal gate. At the time of inspection, the cavern was not accessible, but it is noted to have a rock-cut passage inside that leads to a chamber featuring a pool illuminated by blue light filtering through colored glass in the roof. Historically, there were plaster figures in this chamber, including a nymph who poured water into the pool.
