Description

16 Segontium Terrace is part of a late Georgian terrace consisting of nine three-storey, two-bay houses. The buildings feature slate roofs and brick or roughcast stacks on the right side. The entrances are located in the left-hand bay and are accessed by steps. In front of the houses, there are original iron railings on dwarf walls, adorned with pointed finials and cone finials on the stanchions, although the gates have been replaced.

Houses numbered 15-19 have a larger footprint compared to 11-14 and project forward at the rear. They retain original architraves on the front elevation, while 11-14 exhibit late 19th-century detailing. The roughcast front includes a moulded eaves cornice. The doorway is set within an added round-headed wooden porch with double doors.

The windows are framed in original moulded architraves, featuring keystones in the lower and middle storeys. The lower storey has a sash window that is boarded up, while the middle storey includes French doors with marginal glazing leading to a late 19th-century cast iron balcony supported by iron brackets. The upper storey is fitted with four-pane sash windows. The terrace is recognized as part of a group with addresses 11-19 Segontium Terrace.
