Description

The gates and arch to the Church of St. Cyngar are a Perpendicular style gateway constructed from rock-faced limestone masonry, located within the rubble churchyard wall. The double gateway is set into a wide, elliptical-headed arch that features three orders and a hoodmould. Above the arch is a datestone inscribed with the year 1890. The gabled roof rises above the datestone and is topped with a plain masonry cross. On either side of the arch are slightly offset angle buttresses. The arch is adorned with simple, cast-iron gates that have tall and short alternating vertical rails.
