Description
The Bridge Towers at South Stack Lighthouse are a pair of free-standing towers, positioned at each end of the bridge. They are constructed from ashlar stone and feature a battered, stepped profile at the level of the bridge deck. Each tower has a heavy moulded cornice and is pierced by a round-headed archway that provides access to the bridge deck. The towers are connected to the land by a shallow segmental archway, supported by square piers that terminate in a parapet with cast iron railings. The original chains of the suspension bridge remain in place, linking the towers to the rock on either side.
