Description
Porthyfelin House is a two-storey building designed in a U-shape, featuring a central block with rear wings at each end. The exterior is finished in stucco, with band courses located below the eaves and at the first floor. The roofs have a shallow pitch and are covered with slate, while low rectangular chimney stacks made of stucco rise from the structure. The house originally had small-pane hornless sash windows, although some of the glazing bars have been replaced.
The central pedimented block contains three small-pane sash windows on each floor and is flanked by single window bays. The first floor has small-pane sash windows, while the ground floor features arched porches supported by Roman Doric columns. On either side of the central block, there are semi-hexagonal bays, each with three small-pane sash windows on both floors.
To the left, there is a wing with four windows, and a glazed lean-to is located on the right. The right wing includes a single window bay with a smaller inserted window on the ground floor, an advanced single window bay, paired windows, and a window on the first floor, along with a doorway on the ground floor. At the rear, the wings enclose a single-storey service block.
